Anna Battersby

Anna Battersby is a contemporary artist whose ceramic and sculptural installations are a mixture of abstraction, symbolism and materiality.

​Her functional ceramics are informed by her sculptural works, whereby gesture and material agency is at forte and she seeks to enhance the elemental details of the clays, oxides and glazes. Her use of rare earth oxide colourants in her glazes allow some works to take on an ephemeral appearances as they change colour under different lighting conditions.
