Ichigosan

2021

Curated by Yves Lee

PERFECTLY SHAPED AND DELIGHTFULLY SWEET,

THESE LUSCIOUS STRAWBERRIES ARE BELOVED BY ALL.

PRESENTED TO YOUR TABLE WITH LOVE.

From Saga

Autumn 2018, Saga Prefecture brought to us a new breed of strawberry, Ichigosan.

It was then brought to us in Hong Kong in 2019.

Founded in Saga, their farmers had spent the last 7 years perfecting this breed through picking the best out of 15,000 strains. It is one of their biggest discoveries since Sagahonokafrom 20 years ago. Ichigosan are large in size, bright in colour, filled with juice and with a refreshing fragrance, it is the perfect balance of sweetness!

It is our pleasure to introduce to you this sweet, confident young lady, Ichigosan.

You can now find Ichigosan at many different distributors in Hong Kong; despite the wholesale market, you can also purchase them at Sogo, Aeon, Yata, Citysuper, Apita, Uny, local wet markets and certain retail stores!

GWEE COFFEE & MORE

This winter Gwee presents to us their seasonal special, 'The Ichigosan' with strawberries sponsored by the Saga Prefecture, and their warm version is

served in Ying Ceramics, sponored by Sean Gallery. It is created with their self-made Ichigosan strawberry purée with no added sugar, mixed with milk; then topped with Kyoto Uji Yamamasa Koyamaen Matcha thickened cream, and a slice of strawberry to finish.

It is a simple yet fulfilling Matcha Strawberry Latte!

YING CERAMICS

Ying's work is mainly inspired by the Taoism Philosophy which emphasises living in harmony with the Tao, literally "naturalism", "simplicity" and "spontaneity". In her works, she seeks the peace of inner-self, balance between people and the harmony of nature.

An unspoken intimacy is formed when the hand touches the clay, not unlike the warm tingling that passes through your body when our pinky fingers nonchalantly touches. Our warmth and pressure each finger forms unique shapes and textures on the clay that creates a mutual reliance in the process; like a shadow and the body, like a dance that is synchronised in an eternal balance.

Ying Ceramics can be found at Sean Gallery during our Ichigosan events!
